History

A vineyard,five generations

  • 1890 : Mr Pierre Robineau, grocer and draper decides to buy 2 hectares of vines. A parcel called « le Clos des Forges ».
  • 1921 : He made the donation to his son Louis Robineau, Hélène Ameline husband who gave birth to Helen Robineau.

  • 1930 : Death of Louis Robineau. His wife Helen Ameline, will gradually acquire other vineyards. Vines and she will rent to exploit his daughter Helen. The Vineyard is already winning the Concours Agricole de Paris. Gold medal in 1934-1935 …

  • 1945 : Helen and her husband René Robineau Branchereau exploit an area of 7 hectares.

  • 1970 : : Installation of their son Claude Branchereau who gets the entire vineyard in 1975, 10 ha, it will operate with his wife Raymonde Walnut.

  • 1983 : Always looking for quality …. Gold Medal in Paris for Anjou Rouge 1982.

  • 1986 : Creation of the name Domaine des Forges. Le Clos des Forges is the name of the first plot of vines or is bought and built the present winery.

  • 1988 : Acquisition of vines on the Coteaux du Layon Chaume.

  • 1992 : Acquisition of 1.5 acres of vines on the Appellation Savennières.

  • 2002 : Launch of a new crop in the Red: “The 3 C Domaine des Forges” to Claude, Corentin & Camille (Little Children).

  • 2003 : After ten years of “Fight” Claude Branchereau who was president of the Coteaux du Layon Chaume finally gets the INAO the name “Chaume 1er Cru des Coteaux du Layon”. I.N.A.O die Anerkennung der Appellation « Chaume 1er Cru des Coteaux du Layon »

  • 2003 : Raymonde & Claude have processed the first cellar grandfather cottage with a capacity of 10 people. Labeled “Gîte de France 3 ears.”

  • 2004 : First wine on earth Savennières “Roches aux Moines” and Savennières “Clos du Papillon”.

  • 2005 : Air Chai barrel.

  • 2007 : Tile Chai barrel.

  • 2008 : insulation, tiling and new winery part of the old cellar.

  • 2009 : Expansion of the vineyard in the appellation Thatch 2 Ha 80.

  • 2010 : Acquisition of new land on St Aubin for planting cabernet.

The vineyard now extends over 47 ha .
